Lead Teacher of Business
The School of Science and Technology Maidstone (SST) is an outstanding school, with state-of-the-art facilities, that opened in 2020. We are extremely popular within the local community and are heavily oversubscribed. SST is at an exciting point in its growth and development as September 2026 was the first year our school has a full complement of students and staff as our very first 2020 cohort became Year 13.
In January 2023 SST was inspected by Ofsted and was graded OUTSTANDING in all categories and in our first set of public examinations in 2025 our outcomes for students were amongst the very best non-selective schools in Kent. This is a testament to the fantastic work that has gone into making this school a brilliant place to learn and work.
We are looking to appoint an exceptional Lead Teacher of Business to join our existing team. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of students who are eager to learn and succeed. As Lead Teacher of Business, the postholder will be responsible for leading and developing the Business curriculum across the school, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning and achievement for all students.
The postholder will provide strategic direction for the subject, oversee curriculum planning and assessment, monitor student progress, and support the professional development of staff within the department. They will promote a positive learning environment, raise attainment at all key stages, and foster students' understanding of business, enterprise and the wider economic world. The role includes contributing to whole-school improvement priorities, managing departmental resources effectively, and ensuring that teaching and learning within Business reflects current best practice and examination requirements.
If you are passionate about working in a dynamic team to provide inclusive support to enable students to have full and effective access to the secondary school curriculum, we would love to hear from you.
Come and join our dedicated team of professionals who are always willing to support new staff in the best interests of our students. Our school continually evolves in our drive for excellence; we aspire to provide Exceptional Care, Exceptional Education and Exceptional Opportunities.
