Welcome
Welcome from Mrs Van Beales, Executive Headteacher
A very warm welcome to the School of Science and Technology Maidstone (SST), a brand new school with the most exciting learning environment, where learning has no limits.
My team and I have designed a very broad and balanced curriculum and established an excellent personal development programme which aims to develop well-rounded students who will work hard to make a difference to the world around them.
We want our students to leave us at the age of 18 with the knowledge and skills ready for the world of work and academia, and with a heart full of compassion and kindness to make a difference to the community they find themselves in.
I am fully aware that our students will enter a world where it's not impossible to think that they could lose out to robots if they cannot communicate effectively. It is also a world where we will all lag behind if we are not constantly learning. Everyone at SST will work tirelessly together to build habits and hone skills to enable our students to take on the rapidly changing world of the 21st century.
Learning at SST will be exciting and fun but, at the same time, will be challenging and require hard work. Our students will create beautiful and meaningful work that they are proud of. The sense of achievement we get out of our learning experience will be endless as a result.
Please come to visit us, our door is always wide open to interested students and parents. We look forward to proudly showing you around our beautiful school and introducing you to our friendly community.
Welcome from Mrs Chan, Principal of SST Singapore
The School of Science and Technology, Singapore (SST) believes that nurturing innovators who are adept at applying Science, Technology, Engineering, Aesthetics and Mathematics (STEAM) will be key to shaping the 21st century. To this end, we embrace partnerships with like-minded peers, such as the team behind the School of Science and Technology, Maidstone (SST, Maidstone), to create compelling experiences for young learners.
Our exchange was first initiated when a team from Valley Invicta Academies Trust (VIAT) visited SST in 2014 on a learning journey to observe lessons and exchange best practices in teaching. We were both humbled and delighted to learn that the visit had inspired the conception of SST Maidstone and welcome the opportunity to help the team develop a rigorous programme for their students.
Schools managed by VIAT have helped many students realise their potential over the years; SST Maidstone is set to build on this impressive legacy by helping budding innovators find success.
