With the RSPB approaching, we are loving our students' efforts in making feeders. Here Jake has used lard, bird seed, peanuts & raisins all mixed together. He then scooped out oranges, filled them, attached string and left them to set in the fridge! Brilliant! https://t.co/0ls9G0bGPp

Welcome

Welcome from Mrs Julie Derrick, CEO of the Valley Invicta Academies Trust

Mrs julie derrick

Valley Invicta Academies Trust (VIAT) is proud to be opening the brand new School of Science and Technology Maidstone (SST), in September 2020.

This fantastic, state-of-the-art new secondary school will be open to 180 Year 7 students and will offer a broad and balanced curriculum for those students with a special interest and flair for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) subjects. We are very lucky to have the support of our strategic partner, SST Singapore.

Our aim is for SST Maidstone students to leave school with a combination of excellent examination results and a unique STEM based skill set. All our students will benefit from being part of our Maidstone campus of schools and will have access to a wide range of shared facilities, including our brand new Sports Hall, which will be ready to use in September 2020.

We hope that you are as excited as we are about what we have to offer, and we look forward to receiving your applications in the coming months.  You can find more information about our Admissions Policy under the Admissions tab.

Welcome from Mrs Van Beales, Headteacher

Van

A very warm welcome to the School of Science and Technology Maidstone (SST), a brand new school with the most exciting learning environment, where learning has no limits.

My team and I have designed a very broad and balanced curriculum and established an excellent personal development programme which aims to develop well-rounded students who will work hard to make a difference to the world around them.

We want our students to leave us at the age of 18 with the knowledge and skills ready for the world of work and academia, and with a heart full of compassion and kindness to make a difference to the community they find themselves in.

I am fully aware that our students will enter a world where it's not impossible to think that they could even lose out to robots if they cannot communicate effectively. It is also a world where we will all lag behind if we are not constantly learning. Everyone at SST will work tirelessly together to build the habits and hone the skills to enable our students to take on the rapidly changing world of the 21st century.

Learning at SST will be exciting and fun but at the same time, will be challenging and require hard work. Our students will create beautiful and meaningful work that they are proud of. The sense of achievement we get out of our learning experience will be endless as a result.

Please come to visit us, our door is always wide open to interested students and parents. We look forward to proudly showing you around our beautiful school and introducing you to our friendly community.

Welcome from Mrs Chan, Principal of SST Singapore

The School of Science and Technology, Singapore (SST) believes that nurturing innovators who are adept at applying Science, Technology, Engineering, Aesthetics and Mathematics (STEAM) will be key to shaping the  21st century. To this end, we embrace partnerships with like-minded peers, such as the team behind the School of Science and Technology, Maidstone (SST, Maidstone), to create compelling experiences for young learners.

Our exchange was first initiated when a team from Valley Invicta Academies Trust (VIAT) visited SST in 2014 on a learning journey to observe lessons and exchange best practices in teaching. We were both humbled and delighted to learn that the visit had inspired the conception of SST Maidstone and welcome the opportunity to help the team develop a rigorous programme for their students.

Schools managed by VIAT have helped many students realise their potential over the years; SST Maidstone is set to build on this impressive legacy by helping budding innovators find success.
