SST Singapore Exchange
We are thrilled to report on an extraordinary visit of 14 students and three staff members from our sister school, SST Singapore, who graced our campus from Monday, 28 to Wednesday, 30 April 2025. Their visit coincided with their school’s 15th anniversary, a celebration that we proudly marked alongside our own fifth year of being open. The excitement was palpable as we prepared an engaging schedule of activities to showcase the warmth and spirit of our school community.
On Monday, 28 April, the students arrived and were met with enthusiasm from our own students. To help break the ice, some of our Year 9 paired up with the visitors, who would be their buddies for the following two days. This gathering set the stage for a week filled with activities and collaboration. Following the icebreakers, our guests shadowed their buddies through a variety of lessons, including PE, Geography, Languages and Mathematics. We were thoroughly impressed by the focus and dedication our counterparts from SST Singapore demonstrated, and it was equally fascinating for our students to learn about the cultural differences and similarities between our schools. The excitement continued on Tuesday, 29 April, when students were divided into groups to embark on a collaborative project centred around sustainability. Their challenge involved designing an off-thegrid home, and the results were nothing short of astounding given the short time they had to work on them. The presentations were both engaging and intricately detailed, with our visitors from SST Singapore impressively utilizing a range of software programs to create stunning 3D designs. It was a joyous opportunity for our students to witness their peers embrace new technology, demonstrating skilful creativity while also learning the responsible use of AI in their research. Wednesday, 30 April, brought more lessons and the main project presentations. The quality of collaboration observed during the time spent together was extraordinary, showcasing a true spirit of partnership. As the visit drew to a close, students exchanged gifts and shared contact details, reinforcing the message that, while we may be separated by distance, we are closely intertwined. As we bid farewell to the wonderful students from Singapore, we invite you to read a series of articles penned by our own students, sharing their experiences from the exchange programme. We are already buzzing with anticipation for our upcoming reverse trip to Singapore in 2026, which promises to deepen the connections we have forged.
