SST Singapore Trip
Towards the end of term and over the Easter break, students were offered the opportunity to take
part in a trip to Singapore. The trip offered a fascinating glimpse into a vibrant cu
lture and education
system, leaving staff and students inspired one of the highlights of the visit is the opportunity for our students and staff to spend time at SST Singapore. This provided a fascinating window into how education is approached in a different cultural setting. The students were able to observe lessons, interact with their Singaporean peers in a collaborative project and reflect on the similarities and differences of school life from different cultures. It was a valuable experience that broadened perspectives.
School of Science and Technology Singapore were fantastic hosts, and we hope we are able to offer this fantastic opportunity to more students in the future.
Beyond the classroom, the group had a taste of Singapore’s vibrant culture. One of the memorable experiences would be dining at traditional hawker centres, where students sampled a variety of local dishes. This not only introduced them to new flavours but also gave an insight into every day life in Singapore and how food plays a central role in community and culture.
The itinerary on the trip also included visits to some of Singapore’s most
iconic attractions.
When visiting Marina Bay Sands, students were able to take in the city skyline and appreciate the
modern architectural landscapes.
Before departing Singapore, the group had the opertunity to visit Jewel Changi Airport. Students were
amazed by the stunning indoor waterfall which is surrounded by the greenery of the Forest Valley.
Overall, the trip was a tremendous success. It not only enhanced students’ understanding of a
different culture but also fostered individual and curriosity. Mr Gabell and Mrs Royston would like to
share how proud they are of how the students engaged with every aspect of the experience and
represented the school throughout the trip.
